This Valentine's Day, offer loved ones homemade treats wrapped in paper that echoes your heartfelt sentiments. All you need to transform plain waxed paper into lovely gift wrap is some tissue paper, a heart-shaped craft punch, and an iron. Use the paper to wrap cakes, stacks of cookies, and other goodies. Then finish each package with some waxed twine and a colorful gift tag.
I would try the thin crochet thread .. Have fun.

someone i know tried this before, but the wax paper did not bind. he also pointed out that wax paper is used in baking, and it doesn't seal. will this really work with an iron?

This can be made with paper cutouts too. I printed out shamrock clip art on computer paper and cut them out and put them between the wax paper and it worked! The possibilities are endless. (I don't suggest larger than 2")
