  1. Cut out the tops with a sharp knife, and scoop away the pulp with a spoon; pumpkins, squashes, and gourds will remain watertight for about a week. These flower arrangements include white cosmos and chartreuse lady's mantle, but dried seedpods and grasses also work well.
