Kids Good Things 2006
This display center won't damage pictures since it doesn't need thumbtacks to hold items in place. Stretch extra-large colored rubber bands over the length and width of a 1-foot-square piece of corkboard painted with acrylic paint. Make sure the bands go over and under one another at intervals.

By the way, a " French"memory board is done the ribbon on the diag / / / / / with fancy ribbon
I have three gran's2 girls/1boy. I might make it a bit large. will look nice in their rooms. Can some one please tell me what " sherring" material means. this term was used in the pettyskirt.
As soon as I saw this I knew it was a craft for me. I will email it to my 13yr. grandaughter for an easy craft. Joannabanana
Great idea, I would use string or coloured twine instead of rubber bands, in my experience, rubber bands perish and break, especially when they've been stretched for a while........you could also use diagonals instead of squares
What is a french memo board? This is great, to me. I hate looking for thumb tacks.
I think this is a great idea. I will use it in my craft room for my projects that I want to do. Thanks a lot Martha for all your great ideas.
I think the french memo board is a better way to dispaly photos and cards.
I think the french memo board is a better idea.

Rubber bands can discolor photos. Maybe use scanned copies?
This rubber band board is GREAT...I don't understand about the cat thing but why is a cat as high as a message board...we have grandchildren and the ribbons get loose as the picture and postcards we send them are taken of board for show and tell, etc and I worry about giving them push pins and paperclips don't always work...now this is fabulous thank you Martha and all your smart staff
Great idea! I am going to use it for my daughter's summer project! It will frame one of her paintings great and then put summer pictures around it!!! Now where to find the cute gigantic rubber bands???
Why not use thin colorful elastic from the fabric departments, rather than rubber bands. Much more sturdier.
Well... I'll just say that I like the fabric/ribbon boards a lot better !
got cats? then skip this project.
I wish they'd give us a source for those big, bright rubber bands.
where can I find extra-large colored rubber bands?
if u do not want to paint u could use heavier scrap book papaer or maps etc to decorate the corkboard. i can not wait to make one to holed my earings etc in my room gerri
wow...what a wonderful and easy craft...
Great idea. If you don't want to use rubber bands ( sometimes they dry out and crack apart ) you could use hair bands. They stretch and come in great colors to co-ordinate with any room decor. Also, they can be picked up at the local $$$$ store very inexpensively. Have fun crafting !!!
I've been looking for ideas to organize my craft space, and between this and the placemat tool holder, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Fabulous ideas!
This could also be done with a piece of foam-core. The foam-core poster board comes in diffierent colors or you could paint it or cover it with fabric or wrapping paper. I have the foam-core on-hand AND the rubberbands! Guess what I'm doing this afternoon after work!
Cute and easy ideal :) Be careful manipulating the rubber bands so that they don't snap. Ouch!
