Greeting-Card Advent Calendar

Martha Stewart Living, December/January 2001

Open a numbered window for each December day before Christmas. On Christmas Day, open the front door. Enlarge template by 200 percent; repeat. Trace outline on two sheets of heavy card stock to use as the front and back "walls."

Mark position of door and window shutters with a pencil. Cut slits for door and shutters; number shutters randomly. Place images from old greeting cards behind each opening; adhere with a glue stick. Edge roof, chimney, and foundation with red paper; add gold trim. Glue ribbon loop between boards, to use as hanger, before gluing back to the front.

Easy to do...The small contact prints you get along with your order of photos are perfect to put behind the doors and windows. this makes it a personal calendar and is so easy to do. Don't worry about a template this is simple, just think about it a moment and then go for it.

This looks very cute, and I was excited to make a few with my kids. I can't enlarge it with my printer settings, though. Why couldn't they just make the template the correct size? Does anyone know how to enlarge it?

It might be a cut out from a christmas card for the door, but maybe its worth looking online for a picture that matches that look

The door in the pictures above is beautiful. It doesn't seem to be part of the template. Where can I find this?
