The week's newspapers will be easier to get tied and out to the curb on recycling day if your recycling bin is preloaded with twine. Add four casters to the bottom of a 14-by-12-inch wooden crate, then paint it. On each side, to hold the twine, attach a 2-inch metal cleat (centered); add 4 screw eyes to the top rim. Before filling the bin, run lengths of twine loosely across the box and through each pair of opposing screw eyes, then secure on cleats.

A close up of the twine holder would be very helpful - thanks!
No photos of where to place the hardware? The way my mind works (lol) I need pictures....Just reading the directions confuses the heck out of me.
juliekramer, if you go to ikea.com you can find their "Ikea PS Bintje" crate which is available online, and the "Sortera recycling bin with lid" which is only available in the stores.
Our closest IKEA is 200 miles away. Does anyone else know where I could get a crate?
That smaller white box is all plastic (it just looks like a glass insert b/c it's thin right there). I have several of them--bought them at IKEA, and they stack on top of one another. Very handy. They still sell them there.
Where can I get this crate? I want to make this for my husband for father's day!!
has anyone figured out what the smaller white box with glass insert is? I would like to make one. HELP PLEASE
