Favorite old photographs take on a new look when viewed together in a custom-made quadrant painted to match the walls. 1. The beveled edges on these frames provide a subtle play on the tones in the old black-and-white photographs. (That's Alexis Stewart at age 1 1/2 in the upper-right-hand frame.) To create a quadrant frame, you'll need four 3 1/2-by-5-inch unfinished-pine frames (available at craft stores), matte or semigloss paint, six mounting brackets with screws, and two D rings (all available at hardware stores). First, paint the unfinished frames. 2. Once the paint has dried, after about 4 hours, assemble the frames as you want them to appear on the wall. 3. Turn them facedown, and join them with the mounting brackets. Insert the glass, photographs, and backing material according to package instructions. Then screw the two D rings to the top corners on the back of the frame. Run a matching velvet ribbon through the D rings, and hang from an ornamental nail head.
rnamental hooks could be something as simple as a cabinet drawer pull but you will have to get a ldouble-ended screw to go into the wall. Make sureyou have a molley in the wall if you are mounting directly into just drywall. If in a stud, make sure the screw is long enough.
I have a large family and hate having masses and masses of frames hung. I also don't care for the collage frames. This will give the same picture space but a much cleaner and uncluttered look. I plan to make several and hang them all in a row down the hall. Thanks much!

Can anyone think where one might find ornamental nails? This is the first I've seen or heard of them, but I definitely like the look.
I agree, that MUMTAZ was promoting the magazine .....it sounded like a verbal commercial to me . It didn't offend me, but rules are rules .
Hey....I'm fairly new to all of this and hadn't noticed MUMTAZ before and all her commotion. Contributors often give great links and this is what I was applauding. Point taken though and I'll be alert in future.

I don't think you understand MissMaryjo. MUMTAZ is just here to promote that magazine, which doesn't appear to have anything to do with crafting. She would be booted off any other list but this one doesn't seem to moderated.

MUMTAZ, please stop posting your commercial for another magazine, it is very annyoying, and that makes me NOT want to go to that website, you are not helping their cause at all.
As always, the ribbon and beautiful knob really pull the whole thing together - I think they are both key elements of the project, not to be ignored or overlooked.
This is a great idea. You could really put the frames in any shape that you want. I have been wanting a frame with this same idea, and now I can just make one myself! I love this!
