Chair Back Place Cards

Chair Back Place Cards

Source: Martha Stewart Living, September 1999

Introduction

Small bouquets holding hand-lettered name cards are a charming way to guide guests to their seats. This idea works best for open-back chairs.

materials

  • Ruler

  • Card stock

  • Calligrapher's pen

  • 2 small bunches of flowers (we used roses and Trachellum)

  • 16-inch-long satin ribbon

steps

  1. To make place cards, tear card stock to size against a ruler to create an attractive deckled edge, or use store-bought cards. Inscribe with a calligrapher's pen, and tuck a card behind the nosegay on each chair.
