Space Saver

Organizing Good Things 2004

Install a shelf and brackets over the bathroom door to put that out-of-the-way spot to good use: Keep towels or bulky items there to save space in closets and cabinets. If you have enough room to install more than one shelf, keep the items you use least frequently at the very top.

We did something very similar over our glass sliding door, only we used wooden brackets and attached out wooden rod curtain which holds the curtain in front of the glass sliding door. This gave us extra space for books and decorations.

This is by far the best idea!! I recently redid my bathroom which is quite small. I decided to attempt this little project and it worked out perfectly. I made the brackets myself, sanded, painted the shelf and installed it as well. I keep a basket of face cloths as well as a basket for towels on top of it. This idea has freed up space in a storage cupboard and kept items handy in the bathroom.
