Introduction

Celebrate spring by bringing some greenery indoors. Embellishing pillar candles with blades of grass highlights a plant that's rarely appreciated up close -- and unifies an assortment of candles. Place the candles on pastel saucers that set off the green grass blades, and display them on a shelf or mantel.

materials

  • Light-colored Pillar Candles

  • Nonflammable All-Purpose Glue Stick
  • Blades of Grass (we used wheat grass sprouted from seed)

steps

  1. Apply adhesive to a single blade, and affix to candle, folding the bottom of the blade underneath.

  2. Repeat process, varying lengths and spacing to mimic natural growth and create a pleasing pattern.
