Project

Clothespin Picket Fence

Materials

  • Tape measure
  • Plant pot
  • 12-gauge steel wire
  • Bias tape
  • White glue
  • Clothespins
  • Scissors

Steps

  1. Step 1

Measure 2 3/4 inches up the side of the pot. Bend a piece of 12-gauge steel wire into a circle 1 inch larger in diameter. Wrap bias tape around wire twice, securing ends with white glue.

  2. Step 2

Slide clothespins onto wire at 1/2-inch intervals. To join the "heads" of the clothespins with bias tape, measure around the circle they create, and cut a piece of bias tape 2 1/2 times longer. Fold bias tape in half lengthwise and then widthwise, hooking the midpoint around head of one clothespin.

  3. Step 3

Wrap loose ends around head, then cross them; repeat wrapping and crossing at each clothespin. Knot and trim excess tape, turn base over, and place pot inside.

This would look better with a wood stain on the clothespins and a smaller pot.

You people are pathetic, this is one of the more stupid ideas I have seen from Martha Stewart. Bias tape is expensive, I think you could use a lot of other things.

Sorry...they have no appeal to me! I would like it better without the clothespin fence.
