Ribbon Hanger

Martha Stewart Living, September 1996

The French don't just store favorite trays and platters; sometimes they hang them. All it takes is a wide ribbon, a brass ring, and a pretty picture hook. Feed a piece of ribbon through the ring, and sew the ends together. Repeat with a second ribbon. Hang the ring over the picture hook, with seams in back. Slide a rectangular platter into the loops; let it hang on its own, or add a smaller contrasting platter in front.

I knew I had seen this in an old Martha Stewart book or mag, but couldn't find it in any of the ones that I have. I found 2 big, old, cream platters, perfect for family get togethers, at a flea market for a song, but knew that I could hang it when not in use, and it would be beautiful to look at as well. Thank you for the good ideas.

Does anyone at MS know the color of this wall, trim, and table? I am trying to match, and I am having some difficulty. Thanks!
