Nothing looks as inviting in a cool white bathroom as plush terry-cloth towels. This shower curtain is made from bath sheets stitched with a simple seam. It couldn't be easier -- the towels are just the right size for a standard tub, and they don't need to be hemmed. Use two bath sheets (about 35 by 70 inches each) of the same or complementary colors to make a shower curtain for a standard-size tub. Lay one towel on top of the other, making sure the hems and any trim match up. Stitch the two towels together along one long side, staying within the bound edge. To hang your shower curtain, you will need 28 metal grommets and 14 shower hooks -- we used chain hooks, but any type will work. Lay your curtain flat with the bound edge facing downward, and cut holes for the grommets, about 4 1/4 inches apart, along the edge. The grommets should be no more than 1/2 inch from the edge. Insert the grommets through the holes you've cut, and fasten them. Hang the curtain from your curtain rod, and make sure to use a liner -- these towels shouldn't get too wet

it doesnt exactly explain how 2 make it
Lovely idea. As to the concerns of mildew and moisture the answer may be to utilize this showercurtain in a guest bath.
okay here is a solution for those complaining that the terry cloth absorbs moisture...just like any other shower curtain I bought a 3.00 plastic liner!!!
ISSUE SOLVED
@idrather....dont you think you could toss them in the wash?
yeah but your whole bathroom fills with steam when you take a shower. the steam gets into the towels and starts to grow mildew. towels are so thick that they encapsulate steam easily. plus, when you grab the curtain to pull it away after your shower your hands are soaking wet and there's more moisture added to the towels. they would smell bad, even with a liner, after a week. If you want to make your own shower curtain stick to lightweight fabrics that dry quickly.
this would be a great idea for matching curtains if you have a window..
A new grommet project! WOOHOO! I LOVE GROMMETS! thank you

the item said to use a liner...........
I would imagine this starting to smell so bad after just a few days. I change my hand towels in my bathroom every few days. I think you'd have to wash this thing weekly......it would smell gross!
This is so cute. I want to do a fun and creative Beach theme in my kids bathroom and this shower curtin will work perfectly.
I have a small window in my bathroom. I used the same idea with hand-towels to make a valance type window covering matching the shower curtain.
This idea is great for college kids dorm rooms.
Grommets take alittle practice first, use some scrap rags. Grommets are a great stress reliever! Then, I suggest using two curtain rods rather than one. Use a heavier rod for the outside terry towels and a lighter rod for the inside liner. Hang the outside rod alittle higher to hide the inside rod. As for people using them to dry their hands, at least you know they're washing their hands!!! :}
These would make nice curtains for a sun room or pool house.
I was going to suggest button holes but I see that was done, and so what if guests or children dry their hands on it, it is washable. if you don't want to use a vinyl or plastic liner you could use a nylon one. it also would be washable and better for the environment. for the weight on the tension rod just make the rod tighter or get some of those cups that hold up a closet rod.
I am with you LMDC...Cafe clip hangers would be great, as long as you have a liner and the towels don't get wet....otherwise they would be too heavy! Wonderful Idea tho!!!!
This is a great idea--except that I am trying to get VINYL (use a vinyl liner) out of my bathroom. :(
Whew...the plastic liner behind the shower curtain, the heavy towels on the bar (mine's tension) not sure it would stay up. I'd opt for a lighter weight flat sheet in a coordinating color, or even window sheers. That would result in more light in the shower area, the better to scrub yourself, my dear.
To avoid the towels from getting wet, use a plain plastic liner attached to the same hooks.
You could even do some simple appliques to doll it up a bit. Very cute, off to buy towels!!
Is very easy to make and can match your favorite towels with this bath curtain. Also, would be easy to change decor when you wanted to.
This is a great idea. I like the washable quality. Plus, I can color and style coordinate the curtain with towels, curtains (from towels) et cetera. This is wonderful I am setting up the sewing machine this weekend to get at least two (one in the wash one on the tub) made right away. Thank you so much.
I have done this before. however instead of grommets I just used my buttonholer on my sewing machine and made button holes. It was fast, easy and beautiful!
Great idea as there are so many pretty
I don't even think I would sew them together. It would make them much easier to wash.
Cool idea and soo easy to take care of. you could make on for every season of the year.
Amazingly easy idea that could be changed up seasonally to reflect a cozy atmosphere... LOVE it!
I'm concerned that kids and guests might be inclined to wipe their hands in it
How easy are grommets to do?
Nice, only downside, my grandkids used mine as a towel and we all know how well they washed their hands!!!!!!
I am designing a "under the sea" theme on my clear Vinyl Curtain for my 2 yr old's Bathroom-this would be a wonderful idea to use 1 towel and put it in front of the clear vinyl one for added privacy for guests and could be pulled back to show the designs on the clear curtain when not needed!
I love this idea - I am "downsizing" and moving into an apartment. The apartment is in a great area - not an apartment complex and it is new. One drawback is the small bathroom, but it is white which helps.
This is a perfect way to add nice color without it being overwhelming in that small space.
Thanks!
where do you get the chain and attatchments from?
- I am getting a good laugh out of this-I can see the weight of it coming down on my head.
Cute looking for sure! Wouldn't it be easier to use cafe style hangers though? Then you wouldn't need grommets at all.

Super cute and pretty much as simple as far as projects as it gets! LOVE it and am thinking of it as an inexpensive change for the summertime months... the possibilities are endless!
I like this idea for a shower stall (1 bath sheet).
i wonder what the temptation level is on using the curtain vs. a towel to wipe off water? lol
What a great idea for a kid's room or for your vacation home. I'm definitely going to make these.
I plan to make one for my mother for Christmas! What a simple
I really like the idea of this.. I bet it would never wear out and is easy to wash (duh!)
