Set Up a Basket for Charity

Organizing Good Things 2005

Throughout the year, encourage family members to set aside clothes that they no longer need so you can give them to less fortunate people. Collect garments in a basket labeled with a tag, and donate the contents to a local charity. Consider making similar baskets for electronics, toys, games, sporting equipment, or anything else you want to give away.

We use paper store bags with handles and add a sheet of binder paper thrown on top where we list each item as we add it. That way the bag is dropped off with the items and we have a list for tax purposes. It means once the item is in, we never touch it again--no second thoughts!
