Store-bought cushions spring to life when adorned with pretty, handmade Ultrasuede florets. (Ultrasuede doesn't fray, which means the petals won't need to be hemmed.) Scatter them all over one side, or "flower arrange" just a few in one corner.

Pillows How-To
1. Photocopy template, enlarging or reducing as desired. Using template, cut out 4 petals from fabric.
2. Knot end of thread; sew a running stitch through bottom of petals, making 2 stitches for each.
3. Gently pull thread to gather petals, and knot thread.
4. Make 1 more stitch to connect last and first petals to form flower, then knot and trim thread.
5. Repeat, making flowers in a variety of sizes. Tack-stitch flowers to pillow in the desired pattern.
This is a very clear tutorial, love it!!! Although I already knew how too make these felt flowers, but this is awesome.

All you have to do is print the template one time. Cut it out of matboard, cardboard or whatever and use THAT as a template on your fabric.
The recipe calls for a minimum of 4 petals...it would be highly unliikely we would not make at least 4 petals.and highly unlikely we would make only one flower...so please fill the page with the pattern leaving 1/2" around ..even if we enlarge, we will fill a piece of paper and not waste it....Just a "Green" Suggestion!

Suede is the processed skin of a cow or other grazing animal, and can only be cleaned professionally, while ultrasuede is a man -made "suede" made from polyester fibers and can be machine washed and dried. The beauty of both is that the raw cut edges neither fray nor run - they stay crisp and clean.
