Magnetic Pin Dish

Martha Stewart Living, June 2002

When using a lot of pins for sewing, it's more convenient to pull them from a dish than a cushion. Pins will cluster together if you epoxy a slim, powerful magnet to the underside of the dish.

When my Mom died, there were several of her collection of bone china cups and saucers that were chipped or missing the cups, etc. What a lovely way to keep the saucers around as a pleasant reminder of her, and still have something useful for every day. I quilt and always need pins at hand! A nice addition to any sewing room.

Awesome idea! This would also work well for teachers putting bulletin boards together using pins or push pins.
