Flower Arrangements in Eggshells

Materials

  • Eggs
  • Room-temperature water
  • Eggcups
  • Small cuttings of flowers

Steps

  1. Step 1

Break an egg at the top of its shell, drain the contents, and carefully rinse out the inside.

  2. Step 2

Next, fill the empty shell with room-temperature water and place it in an eggcup for stability.

  3. Step 3

Finally, insert small cuttings of your favorite blossoms (we used lilacs, lily of the valley, and violas). Individually or grouped together in a centerpiece, these tiny arrangements make a wonderful addition to the place settings at your table.

@TheTLC blow out your eggs first, dye if desired, then open up the [filtered word] wider using a needle until you can pull away bits of shell with your fingers.

...and then have omelets for dinner. Read here about how to freeze you eggs: http://whatscookingamerica.net/Eggs/FreezingEgg.htm

How do you get the eggshells so perfect? I'm sure there must be a trick. Mine just crumbled.

I want to know what you're doing with the eggs you remove from the shells.
    Not wasting them, I hope.

Anyone know where to purchase the egg cups? I found bright colored cups but not the white. Ebay has a few but didn't find a set like above.
