Snug and Secure Wrap

Martha Stewart Kids, 2006

Swaddling is most soothing when your baby's arms are tucked flat against her body, but it's only successful as long as they stay that way. Secure the wrap with a second blanket, and your precious bundle will be doubly cozy. First, wrap the baby in a lightweight blanket. Then fold another thin blanket in thirds lengthwise and place over the first, tucking in top edge at the overlap. Be sure to keep an eye on your baby as she naps; infants should never be left alone in their cribs with blankets.
