  • Mat
  • Ribbon
  • Fabric glue
  • Needle
  • Thread

  1. Step 1

Starting at one corner of the border, attach ribbon with fabric glue; for mitered corners, fold ribbon back onto itself and turn.

  2. Step 2

Continue gluing and folding all the way around.

  3. Step 3

Trim ribbon, and fold end under at a forty-five degree angle for a neat corner; glue.

  4. Step 4

Stitch all around along both edges of the ribbon and diagonally at corners.

This sounds like such a good way to cordinate towels as well as bathmats, shower curtains. I have one question, have never used fabric glue, what happens when you wash the items you add the trim on? Does it stay on?

Brilliant. Now I can have rugs that really match my towels.
Has anyone tried putting monogram letters on them?

I did a few all different to match color scheme. A few friends wanted to know where I bought them.....Thanks Martha
