Rock Animals
Study the shape and shade of a rock for clues to its inner nature. When you are ready to design, begin by arranging the rocks until the figure looks just right.
Martha Stewart Kids, Summer 2002

I use to do this on camping trips with my family and my mother still has a few of mine and my brother's and sister's too.
There the kinda of Nik-Naks that bring back some fun summer memories.
If you type in rock crafts in the search above, you will see more ideas that they have for rock animals like dogs, frogs, pandas, sharks, etc. Very cute! At school 2 years ago, my son painted a large rock like a ladybug. I love it. I look forward to doing other animals with my kids if we can find the right rocks!
I have made rock sculptures that I added Fimo or Sculpey "rocks" to when I couldn't find the right rocks-especially good for things like the tail on the turtle.
Aceedesigns, there are books on rock painting. You can find all kinds of pictures in them. I work at a summer camp and we do these cute little animals often. Good luck and happy painting
Wonderful! My kids and I collect rocks when we go out this is great, thank you Penney
Today's section on rock crafts was wonderful. While I understand that each unique rock will speak to me and I will let my creativity guide me, I would like to have pictures as ideas. I found 10 animals in the article on the website. Is there anywhere I can find more pictures?
