Checkered Moss Centerpiece

Give your outdoor table a lush centerpiece with a fun, graphic twist. Fill a galvanized-metal planter (available at garden centers) with fresh potting soil. Inside, arrange Irish moss in two shades (we used dark-green Sagina subulata and chartreuse S. subulata 'Aurea') to create a checkerboard pattern. After a few days, plant the moss in your yard.

    OH MARTHA I LOVE IT WHEN THINGS COME TOGETHER. BY THAT I MEAN THERE ARE SOME GALLERY'S THAT DONT DO AS THIS ONE DID. WHEN I GO TO A PAGE SUCH AS ABOVE AND THEN WANT TO GO BACK, THIS ONE TAKES ME BACK TO THE EXACT PLACE I LEFT OFF IN THE GALLERY. THANK YOU

    What a great unexpected idea! Long and low enough to talk over and green to increase the appetite. Very modern. Very easy. And VERY wasteless.
