Metallic Tray Liner

Martha Stewart Living, January 2009

Leftover holiday paper gets a fresh start when used to make decorations for a New Year's party. We used metallic paper to make a set of party-worthy tray liners for serving drinks.

For a final bit of recycling, we grabbed small tart tins from the kitchen and used the shiny containers to hold tea lights.

Tray Liner How-To
1. Measure the interior base of a rimmed serving tray. Cut wrapping paper to fit. If desired, have paper laminated (at a stationery store or with an at-home kit) for longer wear, cutting paper slightly smaller to allow laminated edges to fit tray.

2. Insert into tray; secure with double-sided tape if needed.

I use a tray everyday for meals and never thought of this idea! I'll be making one of these liners today.
