Project

Patterned Board

Steps

  1. Step 1

Buy the board from an office-supply store.

  2. Step 2

Cut a sheet of decorative paper slightly larger than the board, and lay it on top.

  3. Step 3

Hold one half of the paper in place; lift up the other half.

  4. Step 4

Brush Martha Stewart Crafts decoupage glue on the board.

  5. Step 5

Glue down a small section at a time, working from the middle outward and smoothing as you go. Repeat for other half. Let dry.

  6. Step 6

Flip board over. Cut notches at corners.

  7. Step 7

Apply glue to paper edges; fold under.

  8. Step 8

Once dry, brush polymer varnish over the board, including edges -- this makes it durable.

Agreed Katie O but after fixative use thin coats of modpodge, dry well before next coat. Decopage was wildly popular in the 70s

impossible to do without air bubbles or wrinkling of paper if you use decoupage glue. i used spray adhesive and nixed the varnish after multiple failed attempts.
