Star-Shaped Wreath

Martha Stewart Living, December 2009

Less expected than the round form, this star-shaped wreath -- made from sweet-smelling sprigs of golden cedar -- is just as inviting. And it uses the same technique. You can hang the wreath easily with monofilament; the ribbon is decorative.

Wreath How-To
1. Cut branches into 4- to 6-inch pieces. Gather pieces into thick bundles, and secure each bundle individually with 26-gauge floral wire.

2. Attach 1 end of floral wire to star wreath form.

3. Lay 1 bundle on wreath form, and wrap tightly with wire, halfway up bundle. Without cutting wire, add another bundle so its top overlaps bottom half of previous one; wrap with wire.

4. Repeat to cover form, making sure bends in form are well covered.

This is gorgeous and easy to make! I used "fake" sprigs to make mine so it would last much longer.
