Freezing Cake Tops

Here's how to preserve the top tier of the wedding cake for your first anniversary. Place the cake on the upturned lid of an airtight food-storage container, and freeze uncovered for two hours to set. Wrap in plastic wrap, then secure the body of the container in place, like a cake dome.
