Carve a screwy face onto a pumpkin (draw your own, or use a winking pumpkin template), and make him wink.
Tools and Materials
Empty 10-ounce soup can
2 socket kits
A flasher button
2 small appliance bulbs, available at hardware stores (one bulb must fit inside can).
Jack the Winker How-To
1. Trace outline of socket housing onto can. Drill about 10 holes around circle; use wire cutters to punch out tab. Place flasher between bulb and socket; push bulb and top part of socket through opening. Socket should fit snugly.
2. Firmly press can's open rim into pumpkin flesh around winking eye (using twisting motion). The other bulb and socket light pumpkin's interior. Cut exit holes in pumpkin's back for the two cords and plugs.
WOW! dizz3898 why did you feel the need to tell us 26 times this is a dissappointment to you? How foolish it makes you look. I hope you see this although you probably won't since you left all of those in 2008. I like this idea, but the template is not the same as the one shown. The one pictured is much cuter with the teeth, nose, and facial wrinkles. However it shouldn't be too difficult to alter the given template to match it.
Haha, and those people thought the Celestial Pumpkins looked like an electrocuting hazard.......This is a bit too science project for me

NO, you are so right, It JUST came today and I have been signed up for these newsletters for more than a year! As for the skill level? Definitely not something I want my 12 year old working on nor do I just have two light socket kits around the house... so a run to the local hardware the night before Halloween? .... not likely. And I did click on it for the cute "Winkler" pattern...
I think I would like to know the skill level needed for this project and the money it might cost to make....I just signed up so I can't say it didn't come in time, but looks like it is not a last minute project but one for an electrician or grandpa who has a shop on the premises...I really like this idea though. b

I agree, I wanted the template too! What a disapppointment. Good thing my daughter is an artist, she'll make a template for me.......but gez I wasn't worried about lighting the jackolantern, I wanted the template for the face.
What? This seems soooo complicated! And where's the template for the face? That's what I want to have.
