Fabric Wrapper for Plant Pots

Created By: Helen Norman, Raymond Hom

Introduction

Plants make an ideal gift at this time of year, but foil wrappers can detract from their earthy beauty. Instead, cover plastic pots in a neutral-colored fabric such as muslin or burlap.

Materials

  • Neutral-colored fabric such as muslin or burlap
  • Fabric scissors
  • Wavy Border Template
  • Plastic plant pot
  • Gift tag
  • Twine

Steps

  1. Step 1

Fold a square of material in half (for an 8-inch pot, we used a 21-inch square).

  2. Step 2

Using fabric scissors, cut a wavy border.

  3. Step 3

Set pot in center of fabric.

  4. Step 4

Print plant-care instructions on a gift tag, and thread onto a piece of twine.

  5. Step 5

Wrap fabric around pot, and tie with twine.
