Fabric Wrapper for Plant Pots

Fabric Wrapper for Plant Pots

Source: Martha Stewart Living, March 2009

Introduction

Plants make an ideal gift at this time of year, but foil wrappers can detract from their earthy beauty. Instead, cover plastic pots in a neutral-colored fabric such as muslin or burlap.

materials

  • Neutral-colored fabric such as muslin or burlap

  • Fabric scissors

  • Plastic plant pot

  • Gift tag

  • Twine

steps

  1. Fold a square of material in half (for an 8-inch pot, we used a 21-inch square).

  2. Using fabric scissors, cut a wavy border.

  3. Set pot in center of fabric.

  4. Print plant-care instructions on a gift tag, and thread onto a piece of twine.

  5. Wrap fabric around pot, and tie with twine.
