Save yourself the early morning fumble for a measuring spoon by clipping one to your bag of dark roast. This makes a lovely housewarming gift as well. Simply use multipurpose adhesive (one intended for metal-to-metal applications) to affix an inexpensive tie clip to a metal measuring spoon. Be sure to hand-wash the spoon to prevent glue from dissolving.

where do you get those maple flavoring sugar???
they are actually little chunks of maple sugar used for flavoring your tea or coffee, rather than traditional white sugar
I think they are little miniature pastries; like honey buns or cinnamon bites.
That is so neat. I'll have to try that. I bet you could also use a flat hair-clip.
My son is in medical school. He needs to wear ties now that is seeing patients. While he was here on vacation we spent quite a few days looking for tie clips. Does anyone have an inexpensive (under $15) source? The plainer the better.
I'm guessing they're (brown) sugar cubes.
what are those little confectioneries in the robin-egg-blue little bowl in the front of the picture? Does anybody know and can you post the recipe?
oh, yeah

ooh, I found a 200mesh stainless strainer cup on 14th Terrace day before yesyerday, handy item a strainer is this one in particular looks to me perhaps a part for an expensive Expresso machine. might be French: joie vivre? love
esa es una muy buena idea...
why anybody would keep their coffee in the paper bag it came in is beyond me... they do make lovely airtight canisters with scoops attached these days!
um, Martha darling... you shouldn't keep your coffee in a paper bag to begin with! airtight canister!!!!
You could also just use an office binder clip and use a key ring to hook the spoon to the clip or a bread tie
You should not keep coffee in a paper bag.
Where do you buy these tie clips? They seem to be hard to find here.
I always keep a spoon or scoop in items I use often [flour, sugar, coffee, pasta]. Some are stainless steel, some just inexpensive plastic measuring cups.
Better yet: Just leave the measuring spoon in the bag. I just stand it up by pushing it down into the coffee then fold the bag up. The next time I go to make coffee I just open the bag and there is my measuring spoon standing up in the coffee just waiting for me to use it. : )
Being a visual learner I would like to see the rear view of the spoon also. Joannabanana
This reminds me of another idea that a friend taught me. Put a 1-cup measuring scoop in your flour and sugar canisters to have a ready measuring device when you open the canister.
CurrentCatalog" or not...it still is good idea, bet it still cheaper then the $4 and shipping cost...Though the split ring is good idea also!
Use a split ring instead of glue.
sorry, it's currentcatalog.com and they still have it--$4/each.

Or you can buy a premade stainless steel coffee spoon from Current.com for under $5. I have one and it is quite useful!
Great idea! I just wish that when you click the photos they would enlarge as it is so hard to see details at times. :-(
I wish I'd seen this one before Christmas!! Still I'll mentally file it away for next year - with a nice coffee mug and a couple of sample bags of coffee, this would be a perfect gift for co-workers!
