Show off an heirloom recipe, handwritten notes and all, by turning it into a fabric pocket for an apron.
The How-To
Scan a favorite recipe into your computer, and print it onto colorfast printer fabric (junetailor.com). Let ink dry.
Peel paper backing from fabric. Iron fabric to set ink. Rinse, and let dry. Trim top of fabric, leaving a 1/4-inch seam allowance.
Trim sides and bottom, allowing for a 1/8-inch seam allowance. Fold in and iron edges so they will stay in place, making stitching easier.
Stitch top seam down, using a sewing machine. Then stitch sides and bottom of recipe to apron, leaving the top open as a pocket.

The Printable Cotton sheets fromwww. electricquilt.com boast better users' comments than the June Tailor ones. They are machine washable (junetailor.com says some of them are but reading closely all say to handwash). You can find them online at http://www.electricquilt.com/Shop/Printing/Fabric.asp. They also ship to Canada.
