Yarn Wrapping

Give holiday gifts unexpected panache by using leftover yarn in place of ribbon.

  1. Step 1

Wind cotton or wool yarn around presents (solid-color paper looks best) -- a few times for thin stripes or several times more for thick ones. Use a fuzzy yarn to give packages a cozy texture. Combine different yarns for colorful striations.

  2. Step 2

Knot strands tightly on the bottom of each box. If desired, tie a bow on top.

"MissMarple" (love the name!), I love your idea of the pom pom! That is superb! Martha should give you a prize!

A yarn pom pom as an adornment would be an extra special touch. I like this whole yarn idea a lot! Thank you, Martha!
