I have made Christmas gift tags with buttons and learnded that it is much easier to thread and tie the string on the button before attaching it to the card! You just glue it in place rather than try to push the needle through the cardstock.

I really loved these pictures, but I didn't want to turn them into cards. I do quite a lot of needlework, and I make what is called pinkeeps. I printed these pictures onto transfer paper and ironed them onto a very, very fine weave of linen and made pinkeeps. I really love them, and they make a wonderful summer decoration. I made this card for my mother in law since my mom passed away last year. I decided to color the buttons to correspond with her children's birthdays. Since she had 3 children it fit with the card perfectly. I also glued another card on the back with a poem to cover the knot. I then just put Happy Mother's Day on the front and signed my name to the back.

I love the button idea, but I really think the card is...well... kinda dull. How about making some flowers out of the buttons instead?

great idea and BOY do I have BUTTONS! Buttons collected by any family hold memories and recollections to its family history, use them creatively. That's what I try to do.

This is great! I can use up the left-over buttons from our "button bracelets" to make cards for moms and dads. The kids in my children's ministry program will love this, even if we just glue the buttons on! And thanks for sending it out ahead of time so we can do it before Mother's Day-you do listen to our comments!
