Project

Holiday CDs

Share the jolly sounds of the season with a customized CD.

Steps

  1. Step 1

Come up with a lineup of tunes, then download them from a legal online music service onto a disc.

  2. Step 2

Using a CD-packaging kit (available at office-supply stores), create a label. The ones shown here were made by scanning wrapping paper; you can also try clip art or photographs. Print the design on the label that comes with the kit.

  3. Step 3

On card stock, print a playlist with "liner notes," personal anecdotes related to the songs.

  4. Step 4

Package each with a disc in a square envelope, and seal with a sticker tag.

I'm also wondering where they got those particular cd envelopes. I love them.

How do I make those awesome cd envelopes? Or are they available for purchase? I'd love some more information on where to purchase them or how to make them.

I am making cd's for my friends wedding of her favorite tunes and I don't like the common cd envelope with the "plastic window". Please help.

I can definitely make this. I was wondering what I could give to my little 7 year old niece. She totally loves Hannah Montana. I hope I can find some of her music to download at a low cost. Fun, fun, fun. Thanks again for a wonderful idea MSL!

Go to myownlabels.com for great CD labels. I'm happy with my custom Christmas Music cd labels. Very festive!

As long as you are not profiting in any way from your CDs it is totally legal to make your own CD. It is no different from those old "Mix tapes" you made in the 80's for your boyfriend.

Is this legal? I really want to make some of these but the few friends I've mentioned it too said it might be illegal to download music and share it? Kalealinn I think a store like Staples would cell the supplies to do it.

Does anyone know where to find the printable sticker tags? I love the look of a custom sticker tag on these envelopes but don't know where to find some! Help!
