Give busy hands one less thing to do in the kitchen. Next time you're following the instructions on a recipe card, use a binder clip to prop up the card -- the recipe will stay clean and in plain sight as you cook.

    No binder clip? No problem! Just insert a fork in an empty glass, tines up, and insert the recipe between the tines. It also elevates the recipe to almost eye level, and up away from the counter mess.

    Looks like the card could get messy next to the butter. I solved the problem by gluing a wooden clothespin to the bottom of my upper cupboard. Find the side wall, glue near the front, to clear the front lip. It is up by my eyes so I can read it and it stays clean and off the countertop.
