These festive tree cards are a decorative and fun way to share photos of the kids -- and, they're yet another wonderful craft made using our handy circle cutter.
Tools and Materials
Card template
Light-green card stock
Circle cutter
Ruler
Bone folder
Craft knife
Gold trim
Wide-tip glue pen
Glitter
Dove craft punch
Personal photo
Double-sided tape
Christmas Tree Photo Card How-To
1. Print the card template on light-green card stock.
2. Line up the center of the circle cutter with the logo in the center of one of the circles, and cut according to the measurement marked. Repeat for the second circle on the template.
3. Score inner lines of template, using a ruler and bone folder. Cut out card.
4. Embellish edges of card by attaching gold trim with craft glue.
5. Cover a small square of card stock with thin glue (we used a wide-tip glue pen). Sprinkle with glitter and allow to dry. Punch the glittered card stock with a dove craft punch.
6. Secure glittered dove to card with glue, placing its beak over the branch on the front of the card.
7. Cut a photo with the circle cutter slightly larger than the inner circle of the card. Secure photo to the inside of the card with double-sided tape so that it shows through the two circle windows of the card.

For the dresden, I instead used the inside of Christmas envelope that was coated in gold (I'm sure everyone got at least one of them this year), and cut it into thin strips on one side with regular sissors and on the other side with pinking sissors, giving the strips the same type of look as the dresden, you have to be extra creative when you can't find materials or you have no money to buy them. Mine looks as good as what is shown above. Red
you could use a baby photo of adults as well as a selection of "growing up" photos and use them as place cards. It would also be a memory lane item for them to take home and keep.
I am going to make some of these to send as my christmas cards, and family members can fold them , also can replace the dove with a embossed one ( stamped) and the gold trim with rick-rack glittered.

ah-hah- found it blumchen.com- listed under a vintage ornament craft.
But now that I read- there is no source listed for the dresden- she says it in the video, and she said it will be on the site- but they just list "craft and fabric stores". Does anyone know where she lists her sources- other than on each project?
Jubu67- If you hit the close button on the upper right of the video, then it reveals the directions and the template is there. Took me a while to figure that out as well.
What a neat idea. With a little loop of thread or ribbon at the top, they could also be tree ornaments. I would love to be able to find the gold "Dresden" trim. Back in the 1970's I used it a lot for decoupage. I thought it had become extinct.
I was struggling trying to search the site too! I is actually in the upper left hand corner, underneath the recipe search. I thought that it was for recipies at first, but that's the first line!
I am having a problem finding the template.
I love all MS ideas but find this site hard to navigate.
Sure wish there was a search line for crafts like they have for they recipes.
