Securing Cutting Boards

Everyday Food, Volume 6 October 2003

Keep your cutting boards firmly in place the way professional chefs do -- by placing a damp towel underneath. This trick works for both plastic and wood boards.

Cloth or Paper
A sturdy kitchen cloth towel works best. It's important to moisten the cloth before resting your board on top; a dry towel will not prevent sliding. You can also use dampened paper towels; thick-ply ones provide more stability.
