Many people give their moms flowers on Mother's Day that have been arranged by a florist. This year, try something new, and arrange them yourself. New York City florist Michael George shared his technique for creating a simple and stunning arrangement.

Mother's Day Bouquet How-To
1. Choose numerous varieties of a single flower type, such as carnations, which are the traditional Mother's Day flower.

2. Arrange flowers lying down on table.

3. Remove foliage below the water line.

4. Make a fresh cut at an angle.

5. Fill vase with tepid water and add flower food.

6. Every four days, recut stems and change water.
