Protecting Our Pollinators

The Martha Stewart Show, March 2007

Here are some ways to help prevent the death of bees, nature's most important pollinator.

-Reduce pesticide load (dab on rather than spray), or don't use pesticides at all.

-Plant native plants in your garden and get anyone you know who has control over the land to do the same. This will attract bees and many other pollinators.

-Buy local honey from farmer's markets.

-Substitute honey for sugar when you cook.

-Contribute resources and time to pollinator groups.
