Baking Spatulas

The Martha Stewart Show, March 2008

Silicone Spatulas
Silicone spatulas are great for stirring batters and scraping down bowls. Spatulas with dark-colored heads won't easily be stained by foods like berries or tomatoes. Washing by hand is recommended; don't put them in the dishwasher. Silicone spatulas are perfect for recipes that call for gently folding to combine ingredients; because they aren't rubber they won't crack or break apart. And, of course, you must have an icing spatula for baking.

Thin-Edge Spatula
Thin-edge spatulas look like any other spatula, but they are razor-thin at the lifting edge so they are perfect for lifting cookies -- especially thin ones -- from baking sheets.
