The mobile is only one option for hanging these bats. They can also be suspended directly from the ceiling or from a sturdy branch (painted black) in a vase.

1.To make bats: Download and print the bats from our cake template onto card stock, enlarging or reducing to create a variety of sizes if desired. Cut out bat shapes.

2. Trace shapes onto black card stock. Cut out bats.

3. Score each bat as indicated on the template: along midline of body and where each wing meets the body.

4. To make mobile: Wrap a single-wire wreath form (or an inner embroidery hoop) in black seam binding. With a needle, make a small hole in the head of each bat, insert a length of black thread into each hole, and knot. (Alternatively, affix thread to bat with clear or black tape.) Hang bats at varying lengths from wreath form, and hang wreath form using a ribbon, monofilament, or thin cord.
