Spring Bulb Arrangement

Whether you're celebrating Easter or just looking for a seasonal display for your tabletop or windowsill, creating a spring bulb arrangement is a beautiful way to make the season come alive indoors.

Resources: Landscape fabric is available from Sheet moss and gardening stakes can be found at most garden centers.

  • Vessel, such as a wire basket
  • Sheet moss
  • Landscape fabric
  • Flowering bulbs (such as hyacinth, tulips, daffodils, or muscari)
  • Potting soil
  • Gardening stakes (optional)
  • String
  • Embellishments (optional)

  1. Step 1

Begin by choosing a vessel for the arrangement, such as a wire basket. Line the basket with sheet moss. Add a layer of landscape fabric.

  2. Step 2

Remove flowering bulbs from their plastic containers. Repot bulbs in your chosen vessel. Add potting soil. Add gardening stakes, if necessary. Embellish.

What do you do with the bulbs after they've bloomed? Can you save them and plant in the fall? I don't want them to go to waste.

Wondering how long it takes for them to sprout and blossom, and does the whole thing need to be stored at a certain temperature, and how much should it be watered? I suppose the bulb package would have that information.. Lovely project!!
