This project can be completed with a frame of any size, as long as the frame has a depth that accommodates screw hooks. The recess for the glass/print should also be deep enough so that the eyehooks are not visible from the front of the frame.

Tools and Materials

• 12-by-16-inch frame with glass and backing removed
• Ruler
• Pencil
• Awl
• Small (about 1/4-inch) eyehooks
• Coated picture-hanging wire
• Heavy-duty staple gun and staples
• Wire cutter
• Drill
• Masking tape
• Screw hooks
• Pliers

Jewelry Organizer Frame How-To
1. Mark the placement of the eyehooks (which will hold the hanging wires) on both short sides of the inside of the frame. For the frame we used, we marked 1 inch, 4 1/2 inches, and 8 inches from the top of the frame opening.

2. Create a pilot hole for each eyehook with an awl. Screw an eyehook into each pilot hole.
Tip: If eyehook becomes hard to turn as it sinks in, place the awl through the eye and gently turn with the handle, being careful not to overwork and snap the eyehook.

3. Thread the coated wire through one eyehook, and staple it twice to the frame to anchor it. Thread wire through the opposite hook, pull taught, and staple to frame. Snip excess wire. Repeat for all rows.

4. Flip frame over and make markings for screw hooks. Find the center of the bottom front of the frame, mark, and work outward for ideal spacing. We marked placement for a total of five hooks, spaced 3 1/2 inches apart.

5. Drill small pilot holes for hooks in the front of the frame. Mark the "stopping point" (a little less than the depth of the frame) with a piece of masking tape on the drill bit before drilling. Screw hooks into holes.
Tip: Cover the teeth of a pair of pliers with masking tape, and use to turn the hooks without marring the metal.

6. Cover the wire and staples on the back with tape to prevent damage to wall, and hang organizer.
