Here are some helpful tips and instructions for our new and exciting Punch Around the Page punches.
Ever the loyal servant, the butler ladles out punch for guests. (He passed away some time ago but never really retired.) We photographed the room and the butler separately, then digitally pasted him in midair, with his legs fading away. Black turnips and mini-pumpkin cups help set a ghoulish party scene.

A floral arrangement becomes positively frightening when covered in creepy cobwebs. To make the webs, cut a 5-inch section from inexpensive or damaged white panty hose, and pull apart until it becomes wispy and resembles cobwebs. Stretch the material over a cluster of dark blooms (we used crimson roses and dahlias, as well as some fiddlehead ferns). Set on a sideboard, or on a dining table as a centerpiece.

Bring a bit of the forest indoors by decorating a lamp finial with a pinecone, plain or spray-painted silver. If your lamp doesn't already have a basic finial -- the small piece that screws onto the top of a lamp's harp -- you can buy one at the hardware store.
Lamp Finial How-To
1. Sand the bottom of the pinecone to create a smooth surface.
2. Dab a bit of hot glue onto the flattened area, and press the pinecone onto the top of the finial.

Wish someone an auspicious new year with a jade plant, Crassula ovata. This easy-care succulent is said to bring prosperity.
To wrap the pot, place it on a square sheet of decorative paper. Bring up two opposite corners, and secure to the pot with double-sided tape.
Fold the other two flaps as shown; tape. Tie gold cord around the pot, and add a tag with a message.
