These coasters look like rafts afloat a tabletop. For each coaster, gather 22 small, straight twigs, and trim them to a length of 5 inches. Double a length of waxed twine, loop center an inch from the end of first twig, and tie once. Tie twine around remaining twigs, one by one. Tie knot at end; cut twine close to knot. Repeat on other side.

PAMASAURUS IS MY HERO
Making these out of cinnamon sticks smells great!!!
Back in the summer my grandson did the twig trivets. they were awesome and he put the person's favorite color of felt on the bottom. here's the website http://www.marthastewart.com/goodthings/twig-trivet
I have seen them made using cane and leather strips making them large enough to use under plants. Have not yet tried them but saw a set in a boutique magazine for $60.
we'll this keep my table's free from the dreaded condensation from the glass?
Well I hope commenter #3 does not put a candle on it, because it could catch fire, cause her guests to catch quite a buzz!
Erlinda, Central Park? Really? I'm so jealous! I love Manhattan.
I'll go twig-picking in Central Park!
...and I wil. use branches from my Cannabis Sativa plant!
This would also be a great idea for someone who likes sushi, and Oriental decor at the table. Very easy to make and quite lovely as well.
I will use my red twig dogwood for this. Thanks
Great idea Limoncello - a felt underside would be ideal in making sure it doesn't scratch your precious table or bar. My peninsula is top with Corian which happens to scratch easily.
I think gluing felt or the plastic preglued bumpers on the underside at each corner would be good, so it won't scratch the surface of the table or slide around
this is a great gift idea for table hot coasters for someone whose taste you don't know.
