A basic straw gets a tropical makeover.
Tools and Materials
- Green crepe paper
- Clear tape
- Green plastic straws
- Scissors
How-To
Cut crepe paper into 1/4-by-3-inch strips, with the grain running vertically; you'll need 3 strips per straw. Shape 1 end of each strip into a point. Using small pieces of tape, attach leaf bases around 1 straw, near the top. With your fingers, gently spread the center of each leaf so it bends slightly outward.

Do you know a way to make straws out of organic material? I am always uncomfortable to keep using plastic this way. But this is beautiful project for sure.
