Pillowcase Garment Bag

Convert a pretty pillowcase into a garment bag for Easter coats, party suits, or out-of-season clothing. It's wise to store clothes in cloth rather than plastic, since plastic doesn't allow moisture or cleaning chemicals to evaporate.

  • Pillowcase
  • Needle
  • Thread
  • Hanger

  1. Step 1

Turn a pillowcase inside out; on the closed end, remove some of the stitches at the center to create a one-inch-wide hole. Tack with needle and thread on either side of hole to reinforce stitching and keep it from opening further. Turn right side out, and slide a hanger through the hole.

I use old pillow cases but I just make a button [filtered word] in the end. This can be adjusted
for the thickness of the hanger.
