Treat Boxes How-To
1. Download and print the skull template. Use pinking shears to cut skulls from cream-colored cardboard. Use a craft punch to make holes for eye sockets. Brush on white glue with a foam brush and glitter. Sandwich between two masonite drying boards (or two books lined with wax paper). Weight down and let dry for 36 hours.

2. Cut a strip of paper slightly longer than the width of the box, being careful that the length of the strip does not cover the eye sockets of the skull. Make two hash marks on the strip indicating the width of the box tray; score each mark with scissors and fold down each, creating a tab with two folds. Hot-glue sides of tab to the inside sides of the sliding bottom, near the top of the tray, but not quite flush.

3. Cut out a rectangle for eyes on top of box. Glue a small rectangle of acetate on the back side of the skull, under the eye sockets. Hot-glue the glittered skull to the top of the match box; let dry.

4. Mark the placement of the eyes with a pencil; punch and glue red dot eyeballs to the tab of the match box. Turn over box and cut off bottom jaw. Bend a 1-inch rectangle of card stock in half to make a tab. Glue one end of tab to one short end of tray so other half hangs outside box. Glue top of this other half of tab to the bottom of the glittered jaw, which you just cut off.

5. Add rickrack trim along the top and bottom of the mouth for teeth. Add a banner that says "Boo" or "Happy Halloween" to the top of skull. Fill with packaged candy.
