Flower Costumes: Rose Garden

Introduction

Looking for a flower costume? Consider transforming your daughter into an entire rose garden this Halloween.

To encourage hair-loom roses to bloom, Bryana, 7, sprinkled her head with hair glitter. Her updo, wrapped in a potted-plant fence, is ideal for tucking in silk roses. Wire keeps silk butterflies from flying away. More silk flowers grow on her shirt with the help of some hot glue.

    Rose Garden

Loyal butterfly subjects hover around a glittering garden princess. She wears a picket-fence crown in her hair and a mantle of colorful silk roses glued to a forest-green leotard; vinelike tendrils frame her face. The wired butterflies and additional sprays of blossoms and greenery are tucked into a regal updo.
    How-To

Hot-glue flowers and leaves to neckline of leotard. Pull hair into a high bun; arrange picket fence (cut off excess) and bobby-pin in place. Spray glitter onto hair, and use bobby pins to secure additional flowers and leaves. Remove original wires from butterflies. Cut lengths of wire from 8 to 12 inches; hot-glue to butterflies. Wrap wires around bobby pins, and affix to hair.

Where are the rest of the instructions? Is there a picture of the full costume? I would love to see it.

Kat, just a high bun, if you need it bigger, use a hair scrunchie to add volume.Picket fence is painted and a rose/leaves is hot glued on, and wired bitterflies. Ribbons on each end of the fence to tie around bun, pins to secure.Add more roses and leaves with bobby pins.
