Romantic Wrapping Paper

Introduction

To create your own artful wrapping paper, just push a button -- the secret to these nature-themed designs is a standard black-and-white photocopier.

Materials

  • White or colored paper
  • Flower, slice of fruit, or other light colored objecct
  • Clear acetate
  • Sheer satin ribbon

Steps

  1. Step 1

Place a flower, thin slice of fruit, or another shapely light-colored object (darker tones don't reproduce well) between sheets of clear acetate.

  2. Step 2

Center the sandwiched item on the copier glass, cover with plain white paper, and copy onto white or colored paper (enlarging or reducing as desired). Wrap gifts with the paper, and finish them with sheer satin ribbon.

    gramboo-
You can use reusable fabric bags or fabric that can be used as something else: tablecloth, scarf. You can even use a pillowcase, which can double as a laundry bag or whatever. Or include a sheet set as part of the gift and use one of the sheets to wrap the gift.

Hi, I'm invited to a Bridal shower and the Bride has requested NO wrapping be used, to save on the environment shes going GREEN. But I have a couple of different presents for her so I'm thinking about a large shrink wrap bag !
everyone have a better idea ?

    Archangle,
Sorry it took so long to get back to you. You wanted to know how to download a graphic. If you have any programs such as Print Shop, Print Master or any card making program you can search for a picture that appeals to you. If you don't have any programs with graphics just search google for "free graphics", there are tons of them. Once you have found what you want to print, you can convert it to black and white from your printer settings. Let me know if this answers the question.

Just a thought but how about useing silk flowers when you don't have any real
flowers on hand, I think we always have some in our homes. I'm going to try it .
We can sure have fun with this idea !

This is a wonderful idea! I never thought of real flowers. Some time ago I did scan my mom's antique doily to use as a background for a greeting card insert to write on.

Oh my goodness! I just scanned and emailed a sample to my sister, Paula, of the
lovely flower arrangement she sent via florist --- I wanted her to see how pretty her gift is and this worked perfectly ! (I just had shoulder surgery.) A dozen
ideas just popped in my head that I can do with this ! Thank you! Thank you!

So easy and so many possibilities! Even groupings of small trinkets or odd objects would be great! For small gifts, I like to use sheet music or pages of old chidlrens' books (if they're already unsalvageable or not valuable, of course). This idea opens up so many options, though! LOVE it. :)

Hello Claudia. I would love to know more about how you can use your home printer to make the romantic paper. I am so stupid about these kind of things! If it is too difficult to explain don't worry about it, I'm sure I can get to a Kinko's and get the "object" copied.

    Thanks, Annie

This is absolutely gorgeous and sooooooooooo easy. If you don't have access to a copy machine you can print a black and white graphic on your computer. Or convert a color graphic to black and white before printing. Fun!
