Ribbon Board

Pretty and practical, our ribbon board has been keeping work spaces clean since it was introduced -- and keeping party invitations, postcards, and photographs organized and easy to spot.
This is the perfect craft that comes nifty and is easy to make. Seeing the video once was enough to get the whole idea and it turned out great. I used a square of fabric left over from making the curtains in my bedroom for covering the board, and used white ribbon. I also found adorable felt flowers and poked pins through them instead of just plain tacks. The overall result was great.
I found that an inexpensive stretched canvas board works great too and keeps the ribbon board very light. I use brown packaging paper along the back after I have stapled the fabric the the canvas back and the put my mounting hardware on for a clean finished look. The wood frame on the canvas is perfect for a stapling edge. I even add a couple of layers of the fake snow sheets underneath the fabric (discounted greatly after christmas) for a plush look.
