Lavender Rose Arrangement

The trick to making a dense, lush arrangement in a wide, shallow vase is using a grid of clear tape to hold the stems in place.

materials

  • 2-inch-deep glass dish

  • Translucent tape

  • Variety of roses

steps

  1. Begin with a 2-inch-deep glass dish and use translucent tape to make a rose-supporting grid.

  2. We chose lavender varieties in different shapes and sizes, snipped the stems to 2 inches, and placed one in each section. To highlight the blooms' hints of red, silver, and green, we tucked cuttings of rex begonia leaves and dusty miller around the edges, where the glass rim supports their slender stems and the greens spiral outward like trim.
