Tools and Materials
Tissue paper confetti circles (You can make your own from tissue, magazine, or other lightweight paper.)
Tweezers
Craft glue
Ready-made card, or card stock folded in half
Acrylic or watercolor paints, optional
Mother's Day Card How-To
1. Use a pair of tweezers to pick up a tissue paper circle, scrunching it with the tweezers into a puckered flower shape.
2. Dip it into the glue and place the scrunched paper, glue side down, onto the card. Once glued, use tweezer points to increase the pucker of the paper if desired.
3. Use the same method to add a smaller paper circle in a contrasting color to the center of the first circle and smush with tweezers. Add as many as three layers.
4. Paint on a stem, if desired (or use a brush-tip marker).
That's a really cute card! It would be a great gift along with a bouquet of handmade tissue paper flowers!

This is such a great idea.
I just made this card and lot it. I used card stock paper and then a piece of scrapbook paper for a smaller square on the front as I only had white tissue
paper. I glued 2 different sized circles for each flower and to add some colour
I used small hardened playdo circles in the centres of the flower. I also created the card to be horizontal instead of vertical.
Instead of buying tissue paper, I used some tea bags I bought. Dipped them in some water and food coloring for different colors but that adds a step where I had to wait for it to dry.
Cute idea, might try for my mom :)

I thought maybe if ithere was a close-up of the flowers, then maybe I could just play with it and figure out how to make it on my own...but, there's not.
Sorry, I mean the eraser part of the pencil.
If you place a pencil in the center of the glued tissue paper and, applying slight pressure, twirl the pencil, you will make a flower shape. More or less twirling changes the shape of the flowers. Draw the stem prior to placing the flower.
This is my first look at this card and I have to agree with the lack of instructions. You have been asked for 3 consecutive years to increase the instructs. Obviously neither you, MS or your staff reads any of the comments submitted by your faithful readers.
I'm also in agreement that there is not enough direction to follow.
I love the card and would like to try it, but I agree with most of the comments. I think I know how to twirl the paper, but where do the second and third circles go after you have glued the tissue paper on the first circle. A longer tutorial would certainly help. Thanks for all your ideas.
You need to let the glue dry completely, then "twirl" gently with your fingers.

I agree. It looks simple to make and I have all the supplies needed to make it, but I have no clue where to start and I'm NOT a teacher. Give us more directions, please.

I certainly need better info for making most of these cards. Last week, I spent 2 hrs. at the craft store, and no one could find the "burnishing" instrument used in another set of directions!
The card is beautiful. BUT I'm confused. A bit more information would be greatly appreciated.

I would really like to make this card but I am a little confused on how to do the twirling. Hope you come back and explain it

I love the look but really can't see exactly how it's done. I tried to enlarge the pic and it wouldn't get any bigger. How do you twirl??
All teachers know how to do this!! Lick the tip of the eraser on the end of a pencil and pick up the issue paper. Put the drop of glue onto the paper and place the tissue circle onto the glue. When you pull off the pencil...give it a little twist.
I totally agree with the comments so far. The project is so cute, yet hard to see and the directions aren't very clear. I would think putting some glue on tissue paper would cause it to tear and the color would run.
I THINK IT HARD WHEN YOU CANNOT SEE HOW THIS BEING DONE. HOW DO WE SUPPOSE TO TWIRL THE CIRCLE IF THERE IS GLUE ON IT. WISH THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN STEP BY STEP PICTURE.

I surely wish your pictures had the option of being enlarged for viewing---I'd like a closer look at what these confetti flowers are supposed to look like, but can't get any detail from the above picture!
